48-ball Sphere Closed Face Dodecahedron Video:
Video tutorial for 48-ball sphere and extended bridged variation here:
Not sure if this has been done before, so I thought I would share ... the 48-ball sphere is not as common as the C60 sphere and the extended version provides a larger subunit to work with.
(@048) - 48-ball sphere = (2 x (4 x 6-ball))
(@192) - Extended bridged 48-ball sphere = ((48-ball sphere core) + (6 x ( 2 x 4-ball) extenders)) + (12 x 8-ball bridges))
(@960) - 48-ball Sphere Open Face Dodecahedron = (20 x 48-ball spheres ... arranged in groups of 5 to form the faces)
(@1440) - 48-ball Sphere Closed Face Dodecahedron = ((20 x 48-ball spheres ... arranged in groups of 5 to form the faces) + (40-ball semi-solid pentagon ... to fill in the 12 faces: polarity of the tips aligned with open face tips))
